Will we emerge as nicer people, or is that just me?

As we emerge from this torpor, and we just have to believe that the pandemic will come to an end, hopefully, sooner rather than later, and when it does, i believe the the world we are going to emerge into is going to be a quite different place.  Personally, We are also going to be quite different people.

Personally, because of our great age and health issues, my wife and I have been in lockdown since the pandemic first reared it’s ugly head. This has made us particularly aware that we are surrounded by some pretty awesome friends and neighbours, whom have seen that we lack nothing, during our isolation.  We are convinced that the world is going to blossom into a far nicer place, well my world is!

When that eventually comes about, we are going to craving for health enhancing, experiences, spirit lifting, exercise in the open air and safe escapes for quantity time with our nearest and dearest.  Certainly we are not going to wish to venture far.  We are going to have memories of people trapped in airports and even on planes.  Hopefully this is going to give great boost to getaways in the UK, certainly for the next few months.

When we do decide to travel again many airlines will still be grounded, indefinitely if not bankrupted.  When we travel again – whether is weeks or months away travel insurance policies could be more limited – I’m sure I don’t need to tell you to play it safe a make sure to use a credit card and not a debit card.We will likely require health certificates and need to jump through hoops to get visas.

Just a year ago, the most precious thing in many of our lives became leisure time which was at a premium, we savoured it most on our vacations.  Now time away will be really need to feel worth leaving home for.  Look around for whats right in front of us – Luckily here in the UK, we have culture, coastline, mountains, conservation parks and fantastic countryside, aplenty.  So although the weather might be unpredictable, let’s give Britain a chance!

Finally I can think of a number of greedy airline entrepreneurs who could do with being taught a lesson – Y’ never know, they might become nicer people!
